For a family-minded operation like Classic Homes, spearheading the “2nd Annual St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway” is a natural. A project that, in many ways, says more about the company’s decades-long commitment to community than all the awards and citations lining the boardroom walls.

“It was a chance to help the kids of St. Jude,” said Joe Loidolt, President of Classic Homes. “The decision was as simple as that. We wanted to continue to help fight childhood cancer.”  The 2015 St. Jude Dream home, which began taking shape in Banning Lewis Ranch following a groundbreaking ceremony in November, is being constructed from the foundation up by Classic and its trade partners, whose time and materials were donated to see the project to completion.

“Too many people’s lives have been touched, directly or indirectly, by cancer,” said Jon Carlson, Construction Manager for Classic Homes. “But it’s especially tragic, and especially frightening, when a child is involved. The partnership we’ve formed between Classic Homes and St. Jude could be life-changing for someone. So how could we not take action when the stakes are so high? A lot of great sponsors were behind this. We’re just one of many.”
Oakwood Homes, the developer of Banning Lewis Ranch, helped make the connection between St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Classic Homes in 2013 and this year marks the second year that Classic Homes will build the St. Jude Dream Home in Banning Lewis Ranch.

Tickets for the St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway will be available starting March 18 at www.dreamhome.org or by calling 800-379-5217. Only 8,000 tickets for the St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway will be sold.  The Giveaway benefits St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Giveaway sponsors of the fundraising campaign include KKTV 11 News, Classic Homes, Epsilon Sigma Alpha, Banning Lewis Ranch, Y96.9, The Gazette, Colorado Homes & Lifestyles, Furniture Row, Hanson HotSpring Spas and Hilton Garden Inn Colorado Springs Airport.
