Dreams Do Come True.
St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital® celebrates winner of Colorado Springs St. Jude Dream Home® Giveaway
This year, William Winters saw one of his dreams come true – and it only cost him $100. The winner of the 2015 Colorado Springs’s St. Jude Dream Home® Giveaway was surprised and honored to be one of the hundreds of winners across the country to support St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®.
Winters purchased a ticket to the St. Jude Dream Home to support St. Jude and did not even see the house until the evening after he won it. “The pictures don’t do it justice,” said Winters. Winters was able to come see the house with his family soon after receiving the call to say he was the St. Jude Dream Home winner.
Estimated to be valued at $425,000, the single-family house was built by Classic Homes and is located in Banning Lewis Ranch in Colorado Springs. The home features approximately 3,900 square-feet, 5 bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, a 3-car garage and finished basement.
Not only does the St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway benefit the new homeowner, but also the patients of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital who are battling cancer and other deadly diseases.
For the past 25 years, St. Jude has given away over 370 houses and raised over $300 million through the St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway campaign, the largest single-event fundraiser for the hospital. It’s because of programs like this that families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel housing or food, so they can focus on helping their child live.
The construction of a home would not be possible without the generous support of Classic Homes, the numerous construction trade partners, the community and loyal sponsors including: KKTV 11 News, Classic Homes, Epsilon Sigma Alpha, Banning Lewis Ranch, Y96.9, The Gazette, Colorado Homes & Lifestyles, Furniture Row, Hanson HotSpring Spas, Hilton Garden Inn – Colorado Springs Airport and national sponsors, Brizo, Shaw Floors and Trane.
“We’re excited for the winner, William Winters, and pleased that this program has and always will be a win-win for everyone involved,” said Joe Loidolt, President of Classic Homes. “Fundraisers like this one allow St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital to continue striving to find the answers to save every child with pediatric cancer and other life-threatening illnesses through its lifesaving research and Classic Homes is excited and honored to be a part of it.”
Those who reserved a ticket to win the St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway or attended the open house could enter to win additional prizes. For a complete list of winners and prizes, visit dreamhome.org or call 1-800-379-5217.
