The first permit to rebuild a home that was lost to the Waldo Canyon Fire in the Parkside neighborhood was issued by the Pikes Peak Regional Building Department yesterday. The permit, issued to Elite Properties of America (Classic Homes), is to rebuild the home located at 2523 Hot Springs Court in the Parkside community. “This is great news,” said Bob Cutter, chairman and president of Colorado Springs Together (CST), the not-for-profit organization founded to serve as a catalyst for the restoration and rebuilding process across the Mountain Shadows neighborhood. “Parkside was hit particularly hard by the fire but we knew it would come back; the property owners are o...

The Mountain Shadows Rebuild Process Begins.
|
Less than one month after start of the Waldo Canyon Fire, the Boyd family who lost their home to the fire that blazed through the Mountain Shadows community has begun the rebuild process at their lot on Yankton Place, naming Classic Homes as their choice builder. On July 25th (coincidentally the Boyd’s fourth wedding anniversary), the couple became the first residents of Mountain Shadows to begin building a new home on their lot. With demolition and cleanup already in progress, Classic Homes has plans to begin work on the new foundation the week of July 30th. The Rebuild Team at Classic Homes appreciates the significance of the building permit for the Boyd’s family home as the first step in moving forward. “Classic Homes in pleased to be in a position to help our community begin to focus on rebuilding and healing.” stated Doug Stimple, CEO of Classic Homes.

In the days immediately following the fire, Classic Homes strategically assembled a dedicated Rebuild Team, lead by Project Manager Jim Boulton, to work exclusively with homeowners who lost their homes. Having built more than 10,000 homes in the Pikes Peak Region, Classic Homes came up with a thoughtful plan for the company to respond quickly and efficiently to those affected by the fire. After every disaster, whether a hail storm, a tornado, a hurricane, or a fire, a large number of people and companies begin descending on the city to try and benefit from the tragedy – with the sole intention to make a quick dollar and then move on to the next opportunity. Classic’s mission with this project is to curtail that type of activity from happening in Colorado Springs. For over 20 years, Classic has been known as one of the area’s most respected builders in the areas of quality craftsmanship and customer service so it’s not surprising that they would step up to the challenge of assisting residents of Colorado Springs – the community Classic Homes is proud to call home. The dedicated team of industry experts in the fields of construction, insurance negotiation, interior design, and customer service understands that the demanding task of rebuilding and recovering has just begun. The team’s goal is to help ease the burden on homeowners who are beginning to face tough decisions and challenges. As a 20 year veteran of the local homebuilding community, Classic is able provide significant support and guidance in navigating the appropriate course of action toward rebuilding. But, regardless of whether homeowners decide to make use of the services provided by Classic Homes or not, it is strongly encouraged to utilize the services of a local, credible company.
As part of Classic’s dedication to this community, they have joined forces with the Pikes Peak Community Fund and will provide $5,000 per reconstructed home into an existing non-profit foundation for the sole benefit of rebuilding the affected neighborhoods in Colorado Springs. “Mountain Shadows is a wonderful neighborhood and we are eager to not only begin rebuilding homes, but also begin restoring the community.” said Stimple. “We will contribute the entire fund to restoring parts of the community that no one is specifically responsible for, such as signage, trees, landscaping, and overall neighborhood beautification.” Classic’s commitment to this community goes deeper than rebuilding the homes that were lost. They also recently developed a lot purchase program to assist homeowners who, for whatever reason, do not wish to rebuild on their current homesite in Mountain Shadows. The lot purchase program is one more way Classic believes the company can assist homeowners as they navigate through the journey of restoring their lives.
Classic Homes Rebuild Help Team is available to meet with homeowners, with no obligation, to answer questions, review each situation and offer guidance and assistance. For more information call 719-785-3259 or visit Classic Homes online at www.ClassicHomes.com/RebuildHelp.

AN OPEN LETTER TO THE RESIDENTS OF COLORADO SPRINGS FROM CLASSIC HOMES
All of us at Classic Homes extend our sympathy, along with our thoughts and prayers, to those affected by the recent fires. This tragedy has impacted all of our citizens, directly or indirectly.
For those of you who have lost your home or incurred significant damage to your home, these are times which are dramatically impactful. We at Classic understand how significant your loss is felt.
It is a difficult and painful process that you are about to embark upon. Classic would like to offer our assistance. We have experts in the areas of insurance negotiations, purchasing and estimating, design and decorating and construction. Over the last 20 years it has been our privilege to provide and stand behind in excess of 10,000 homes within our community. We truly believe we can provide you significant value in navigating through the tough times ahead. Our commitment to you is that we will provide you the customer focus and support you deserve and for which we are well known.
Candidly, we debated writing this letter for fear of being seen as self serving and opportunistic. But not writing this letter felt worse. In the days ahead there will be many people and companies flocking to Colorado Springs for the sole reason of seeking benefit from our community disaster. It happens after every disaster, whether a significant hail storm, a hurricane or a tornado. Some, if not many, of these companies, will set foot in Colorado Springs for the sole purpose of making a quick dollar and then they will be off to chase the next opportunity.
In contrast to that situation, we extend our support in these times because we care passionately about this community, our citizens and the construction of homes and neighborhoods. As such, we will commit $5,000 per reconstructed home into an existing non-profit foundation for the sole benefit of rebuilding the affected neighbor- hoods in Colorado Springs. We are and will continue to be the industry standard bearer in the areas of quality, customer satisfaction and post closing service. We have been here for the last two decades, we are here today, and we will be here into the future.
We offer to meet with any of you, at no obligation, to answer questions, review your situation and offer our thoughts and assistance. If Classic can add value, make your process smoother and help you rebuild your dream we would love that opportunity. Regardless of whether you determine to utilize our services, we at Classic encourage you to utilize the services of a local, credible company.
Classic Homes has established a process exclusively to work with the people who have suffered loss and need our assistance. If you know someone whose home is lost or damaged, or who has questions regarding insurance claims or other home related matters, please contact our dedicated Rebuild Assistance Team.
