Widefield School District 3 serves the Lorson Ranch community. The district operates its own parks and recreation department and sponsors several community youth activities year-round. The schools serving the neighborhood are Martin Luther King, Jr. Elementary School, Watson Middle School and Widefield High School (governed by the school district; subject to change). District students consistently score above state and national averages on achievement tests.
Widefield District 3 has three focus schools to offer parents more choices: Talbott Elementary (math and science focus); Pinello Elementary (Core Knowledge/Spanish focus); and Widefield Elementary (visual and performing arts focus). The District proudly serves a significant portion of the military population; both Mesa Ridge High School and Widefield High School boast award winning and highly regarded Junior ROTC programs. A full array of advanced placement and honors courses, as well as vocational options, are available to its students. Before and after-school daycare is provided at all of its 9 elementary schools.
