Fountain, Colorado is a thriving residential community located approximately 12 miles south of Colorado Springs. The Mesa Ridge community is easily accessible from the Fountain/Fort Carson exit of I-25, and from Powers and Academy Boulevards. Widefield School District 3 serves the Mesa Ridge community. District students consistently score above state and national averages on achievement tests. Students in Mesa Ridge (all filings) attend Webster Elementary School, Janitell Junior High School, and Mesa Ridge High School (governed by the school district; subject to change).
SHOPPING AND SERVICES
The Mesa Ridge Shopping Center is located at the intersection of Mesa Ridge Parkway and Fountain Mesa Road offering stores, grocery, services, a Lowe's, and restaurants to the community. Other shopping centers are close by in Fountain and Security-Widefield. Colorado Springs' largest regional mall, The Citadel, is easily reached from South Academy Boulevard.
PARKS AND RECREATION
Fountain hosts several parks. Metcalfe Park offers facilities for picnics, baseball, volleyball, basketball, and playgrounds. Aga Park and Fountain Mesa Park offer pavilions, playgrounds and soccer fields. Fountain Regional Park is located just south of the Fountain Ridge Parkway exit off I-25. Fountain School District 8 has built a state-of-the-art sports complex adjacent to the high school. This facility is available for use by area residents. It offers year-round indoor swimming pool, a fitness center, tennis courts, and ball fields.
